The Montpellier Public House, Randwick
We decided to have lunch at The Montpellier Public House with S as a last hurrah before she moved to Melbourne (so sad!!).
Ever since Balzac closed, I’ve been most keenly interested to see how Montpellier stacks up.
High Tea at Crossroads Bar, Swissotel, Sydney
High tea at the Swissotel’s Crossroads Bar is not like your traditional high tea experience, but if you’re up for a buffet of the usual components of high tea, then you’re in for a treat.
Hello from NYC #4 – Gastropubbing in Chicago, London and NY
Yes, I’m still alive, just been MIA for a little while. But now I’m back! And I start my year with a post on the Evolution of Gastropubs in Chicago, London and New York City.
Restaurant Balzac, Randwick
I was pleasantly surprised one day to see a 2-for-1 dinner offer from Restaurant Balzac for F’s and my birthday month. The offer was too hard to resist and before long, we found ourselves seated upstairs and in eager anticipation of this season’s degustation.
Restaurant Arras, Walsh Bay
I’ve only dined here once but Restaurant Arras is up there with my favourite restaurants right now. The food is inventive and creative but you can still see the traditional British influences. The restaurant is in a nice location away from the hustle and bustle of the city and it seems the Chef is quite passionate about his food and the aesthetics of his restaurant.
Taste of Sydney Festival, Centennial Park
I think it was around December that I heard a little fleeting teaser that Taste of Sydney will be on.. soon. Last year’s Taste was so much fun, so I was pretty excited. How excited? As soon as I found out the menu was online, F and I had worked out what to order in a matter of mere minutes and mushed our choices together for an epic mini-gastronomic adventure. And this was about two weeks before our Saturday session haha.
Restaurant Balzac, Randwick
Restaurant Balzac was busily buzzing on a Sunday night, with all of their tables on the ground floor full of customers and most of the tables on the first floor filled. I think it’s a testament to the great food served here by courteous and attentive wait staff.
This particular degustation was a special seasonal degustation that is available only on the last Sunday of each month.
