There’s a waiting list of approximately 6 months for Dabbous, our booking was made back in April, and it’s my luck (and someone else’s misfortune) that I’m able to squeeze onto the table. There’s a considerable amount of hype behind Dabbous, but tonight we’re here for a celebration and the £54 tasting menu.
There’s a sense of awe that comes over me when we approach the tables at Otto Ristorante. I’ve ventured over to the dark side of town (i.e. the East) with Astroboy and Helen for the first TOYS Collective event of the year, Blood, Bones & Butter.
The first thing I realise when we arrive at the Chef’s Table in Becasse is that the table really is set in the middle of the action. We’re set a mere meter away from the induction stove tops and have front row seats for the plating station where the man himself, Justin North is putting the final touches on some dishes before sending them out.
It’s a random tweet that brings the Wasted Pop-Up to my attention, but the moment I’ve read the details on the Wasted website I’m fascinated by the concept and have booked in for Astroboy and myself almost before she’s even agreed to come with me.
F managed to surprise me for our anniversary by taking me to Blancharu – a restaurant that’s been on my to-eat list for the longest time.
