Birthday dinner #[something] was celebrated at the newly crowned Sydney’s 2009 Best New Restaurant of the year, Berowra Waters Inn. Situated 45 minutes or so north of the city, Berowra is a nice leafy suburb on the fringe of Sydney. As there is no car access to the restaurant, they provide a private ferry service from a public wharf. I thought this was one of the “cool” and unique things about this place.

First of all apologies for the lack of posts. As with most things in life, you go through the motions and alot of things go through the life cycle of a bell curve. In saying that, we have a few posts to churn out in the next few days.

Another birthday dinner… another FABULOUS meal! Each year, we celebrate our birthday together with a great meal. Two (or maybe three!) years ago, we had our birthday dinner at chef Chad Muir’s other restaurant, Restaurant Balzac and loved the food tremendously. The european flavours and soft sourdough tempted us to follow him and dine at the new Burlington Bar and Dining.

Welcome to the first of possibly many reviews from places to eat in our nation’s capital, Canberra, ACT. There are only a few places that I like to dine at (due to my lack of a car) and Iori is one of a few japanese restaurants in Canberra City. Due to the inland location of this city, you don’t get much seafood so freshness is an issue. However, Iori always hits the spot when craving for japanese food.

“This is the best ramen place in Sydney!”, exclaims Mark. What a BIG statement! The best?? Well, I just HAD to check it out for myself to see if this was true. Since I was working in the city and in Sydney, I tagged along to their manly ramen affair @ Tonton to indulge in what was claimed as the “best ramen in Sydney.” Having starved myself all morning, ramen was all I could think about all morning… (Yes… I’m crazy!).

There’s TWO main reasons why I make the trip to Maisy’s:
1. It’s opened 24 hours, 7 days a week
2. Sticky Date Pudding
Maisy’s is a great cafe to hang or relax as you are guaranteed that it’s open at any time of the day/night.

After hearing mixed reviews from many people about their experiences at Rise – some saying it was “SOOO GOOD and SOOO yummy!” however some saying “eh it was that great…” – so I just HAD to find out for myself what Rise was really like. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday nights, there is a 25% [...]

On a windy and cold, yet bright, sunny day, we ventured to Gazebo Wine Garden for a boozy birthday lunch. That morning, I had already checked out the website to see what was on order. (BTW the website is quite nice but thats because its flash…). “MMMM sangria for lunch! Can’t wait!”, I thought as [...]

Looking for quick, scrumptious, authentic thai food? Thainatown is THE place to go… Well, Thainatown is one of MY favourite thai places to go to. I give a personal vote to this place having the BEST pad thai I’ve ever had in my life (big call here!). I’ve never been to Thailand so I wouldn’t [...]

As quoted on the website “We believe our Cafe is the best environment in which to enjoy wonderful food, drinks & service”, I would completely agree with this since for the past 5 weekends, there has only been ONE weekend I did not dine at Danks St. Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day [...]
