It’s been a while since I’ve posted on this blog, and I really do miss it. A lot has happened over the course of the year, and like all good things, you go through the up’s and the down’s before eventually coming back around and getting that itch to start all over again. I’ve a lot of fun blogging over the years, and I hope that we can continue to do so here at eatshowandtell, even if we don’t post as often as we should. Late last year, I went on my honeymoon with my wife Linda to Lisbon, Madrid, San Sebastian, Barcelona, Paris and London. As you could imagine, I’ve got a crap load of sights and eats to share with you guys. I’ll kick things off with some of my favourite snaps during our visit to Lisbon, where the mix of history, great food, friendly people, architecture and hipsters gave me a refreshing outlook on how to live life to the fullest despite the economic uncertainty and high rates of unemployment other there. One thing is for sure, they know how to have a good time over there. This post is a bit of a photo dump, and I’ll update the photos with captions as I go. If you haven’t been to Lisbon, hopefully these pictures will give you a taste on what this amazing city has to offer!
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I landed, but I left with a greater appreciation of how the City has managed to preserved it’s history and identity, but at the same time develop into a relevant and ‘tourist friendly’ City.
The food in Lisbon was hearty, minimalist and the real deal. We had a lot of meals in places packed with locals, where seafood and meat were grilled on charcoal pits out the front of the restaurant.
