@Joey : It looks tragic, not something for everyday consumption haha!

@Trisha : Yes very similiar to balut, which I’ve tried also! Parking, I gotta agree. Cabra is a NIGHTMARE.

@Fiona : It’s freaky for the first timer thats for sure.

@steph : Caramel fish funnily enough is stuffed up quite often, I’ve had a few shockers where they don’t caramlise it enough.

@Tina : Don’t knock it till you try it

@Simon : Hey, if it’s on the menu I’ll try it

@Chris : Yes it is duckling. I don’t particulary like it but I see alot of people order it as entree!

@foodwink : I think it was the feet, the egg we had was probably a bit ‘mature’ for our liking.

@Moya : Triple shots! not surprised you are bouncing around all day haha!

@Billy : I think we just swallowed it, chewing is a bit much even for me.

that hot vit lon looks nastier than the one I had, so much feathers already! It seems too well developed, gonna be hard to chew… Other than that, all dishes look good though. I must make a trip to Canley vale some time soon.

Oh dear, I’m one of those people who down my tiny glass of iced coffee in one gulp and wonder why there’s so much ice left in the glass! The solution? I make triple the quantities at home but at the same strength, yep bouncing off the ceilings for the next day or two, hehe! I wondered if there was a place in Sydney that sold those fertilised eggs, I’ve always been intrigued by them, now do I have the courage to track down one and try it?

Being an eager follower of the “try anything once” mentality, I too have rule out the hot vit lon. Did you swallow the feathers? And was that a beak sticking out of the egg in the last picture? *shivers*

You’re brave – I’ve only ever dared to eat the yolk portion of the hot vit lon – which is basically duckling, isn’t it? Too many feathers and too much thinking about what it is for me to stomach…and i’ve been brought up with it, lol.

oh dear. i think i’d have to draw the line at a fertilised egg with an embryo still in it. that’s not cool dude the Charcoal grilled beef w/ rice noodles and salads sounds really good though.

Everything looks delicious, great to hear about a good authentic Vietnamese place. The caramel fish looks 1000 times better than one I had recently. I think I’d get a little squeamish looking at the egg, but I’m willing to try anything at least once!

My eyes went straight to the fertilised egg with embryo… similar to the Filipino balut. Love it much to the shock and sometimes even disgust of friends both here in Oz and back home! Ah never mind… the food looks great and I agree – I prefer Canley Heights and Canley Vale restaurants over Cabra not just because they stay open abit later but also the convenience of parking!
