We’ve been nominated as finalists in the Best Food Blog category!

It’s been a whirlwind of a few days as the EST crew have been in shock since it was announced that our baby of a food blog was listed as a finalist in the first annual Nuffang Asia Pacific Blog Awards! The nomination came as an absolute surprise to us and there may have been a little bit of screaming and keyboard denting in our various offices when we found out the news.

Nuffang.com prides itself on their community building and over the last 2 months have been gathering nominations for blogs in a wide range of categories from the Australasia Pacific area culminating in a 3 day 2 night extravaganza for the 60 finalists and 360 guests in Singapore on the 23rd of October.

We are absolutely ecstatic to find ourselves on the lists of finalists and will be headed off to Singapore on the 23rd of October to experience Nuffang and Singaporean hospitality and attend the the Grand Blogger Affair. Thank you to everyone who nominated es&t in this category, we never expected to go this far especially knowing the amazing calibre of all the food bloggers out there. To be honest, we didn’t pay that much attention to the nomination stage, considering how many great food blogs there are out there working with Nuffnang.

We’re shortlisted with some great blogs and will definitely be looking forward to putting faces to some blogs.

Votes for the overall winners are now open! The entire list of nominees are up on the Nuffnang website and we invite everyone to check out all of the finalists and vote for their favourites, you can also vote via the poll currently embedded in the sidebar. In order to vote you must vote in every single category, and you are restricted to voting once every 2 hours.

The nominees are judged by the following criteria -

1. Presentation (10%) – Overall appeal, neatness, user-friendliness of the blog
2. Content (20%) – Readability, images and expression of the content
3. Relevance to Category (20%) – Professionalism and usefulness of information
4. Votes (50%)

Bloggers from Asia-Pacific stand a chance to be a part of the first ever Asia-Pacific Blog Awards along with 60 of the region’s best bloggers, regional entertainers and a Uniquely Singapore experience.

Nuffnang.com is running a regional blog contest to crown the top 100 blog entries. These bloggers selected as the Top 100 would receive a pair of invites to attend the glamorous award ceremony.

Foreign bloggers invited to the blog awards would receive an exclusive 3D2N Uniquely Singapore experience inclusive of transportation and accommodation.

Blog contest starts from 17th September to 11th October 2009.

Thanks for all of your support over the last 18 months that we’ve been writing, it wouldn’t have nearly been as fun without y’all. We’re still developing overall and admire a lot of Sydney (and world) bloggers out there for paving the way for food blogs. It’s definitely a growing community in Australia, hopefully it means some great content for the readers out there.
