@Billy : We should go sometime, best with lots of people to share.

@Simon : I want to try their bar food, seems some of it isn’t on the main menu.

@Tina : Never too late to try the eggnet as it’s a classic!

@Debzillah : It’s all delicious, worth giving it a try if you can get a table.

@Mr Taste : It is a fancy banh xeo of sorts, good pick up

@Steph : Give it a visit, it’s worth it. Hype or no hype, it was very popular even before the show.

@Arwen : Everything is so fresh here, a real crowd pleasure.

@Yas : Come to think of it, it’s been around for a while hasn’t it ? Good to know it’s still going strong.

@ffichiban : eggnet small ? maybe because of the GFC lol. But actually, we ordered a small one.

@Shez : I tend to go overboard with the drinks ….

@Suzie : Didn’t know they had a cookbook, I’ll look into it!

@Zina : I agree, the pork hock is sensational.

@Sydneyguyroejoe : oh cool Thairiffic has it ? Might have to try it one day if the queues are shorter!

@gobsmack’ed : Nice one mate, always good to have connections! I guess you are right in terms of questioning a Chef’s cooking ability, but I had no doubt Martin is at the top of the game for this type of cuisine. I’ve had a few bad experiences, so I always go in cautious when it comes to east meets west type food. On the flip side, I think it’s great Chef’s are being creative by tring to mash ups of different cuisines. It just furthe reinforces Sydney as a great place to eat if you wan’t variety.

If you don’t want to wait, then invite along an FOO (friend of owners!)ie l’il ol moi. Yes, pat pat pat on my own back! Jokes aside(sort of, I really do know Sam and Martin)- I find it quite painful when people question the authenticity just because the chef isn’t from a particular country/region. This is especially true (sad to say)amongst bloggers from an East or South East Asian background (I am Cantonese myself). But most of these same people would not bat half an eyelid when applauding the reverse, ie when a non-white person is behind the stove at places like Claude’s or Lotus etc. I know and appreciate that you qualified your comment by saying that you’re now converted to Martin’s cooking … Come on peeps, this is Sydney in the 21st century. Lets move away from those, dare I say; presumptions and prejudices!

Funny enough i saw that Masterchef episode and at thairiffic at newtown, there first item on the menu is there egg net!! Influcence by what i saw i had to order it and it was great!!

My favourite dish here is the pork hock, its a wonderful texture and the flavours are truly in unison. Fantastic set of photos as usual!
