Frankly Homer Hudson Vanilla Nirvana was a HUGE disappointment. I thought for the amount I paid ($7+) I was going to get some pretty decent ice cream, instead I got a poor immitation of Streets Blue Ribbon. Ok, so it's not "flavoured ice" or whatever they call the cheap stuff, but it ain't great – not by a long shot

Homer Hudson’s “Digger” ice cream ROCKS!!! It is the BEST ice cream EVER!!! And I have tried most of them. I only discovered it about 3 weeks ago and I have been hoping it wasn’t just a one-off special with Anzac Day approaching. Seriously … you need to try it!

Homer Hudson icecream rocks especially chocolate rock! Though the problem is we never seem to find it stocked at our local groceries store. Does anyone know the nearest supermarket to Balmain that stocks this product?

I have to say Homer Hudson Ice cream is definately a level or 10 above other ice creams, its just so YUMMY but its a little pricey too……..

Whoever thought of using the word "nirvana" in a vanilla ice cream is a genius! Christie : Cheers! I was just experimenting with the spot lights in our kitchen, works well until the leaning tower shot of the ice cream tubs fell onto the kitchen floor.

K : They have desserts ? I will have to do another ‘research’ session then.

FFichiban : Yeah Hoboken seems to be the fav but not all Woolies has Homer Hudson I’ve noticed.

Simon : Yeah the website is trippy, reminds of the Crumpler website which doesn’t make sense at all. I didn’t finish them all, it’s way too rich!

Helen : The tower actually fell lol, holding it up plus trying to take a shot without camera shake is hard work. And yes, with a name like that no one would expect it to be Aussie! It was introduced by Unilever back in the good old days.

Y : Oh wow, lots of flavours it seems. The variety seems inconsistent between different Woolies, in fact there is a Woolies a suburb away from mine which does not even stock it :/

love the second photo – it’s all olympic torch-esque

i’m a big fan of the chocolate rock (in little serves as you mentioned) but not so much the hoboken crunch, finding it a little too sweet for my tastes. big fan of the packaging though. so kitsch!

I applaud your commitment to ice cream analysis. That tower of ice cream shot looks dangerous too. I can't believe that all this time I thought that Homer Hudson was American. The name and packing had me fooled! I have seen the Anzac variety at Coles Burwood but usually we can't go past the Hoboken Crunch. Now I have even more reason to buy it. Support Australia! lol. Have you been to the website? It's so messed up. Don't know whether to laugh or step around it slowly and not make any sudden moves. Except for the milf. She was kinda ok. Did you eat all that ice cream in one sitting? I've had the chocrock before. Nice enough but a little disturbing as it comes out looking the same as it went in.

It’s funny to use such an American sounding name (Homer Hudson) for an Australian made icecream that comes in Anzac biscuit flavour. I havent’ tasted this brand before, but it sounds like I should. I like the way your research allowed you to taste every flavour – smart thinking
