The Rocks Cafe, The Rocks

It’s a Friday Night after work and we’ve just had a nice meal at Malay Chinese Takeaway. So what do 5 guys and a girl decide to do? Have a romantic night in and have some cake and coffee.

Iced Coffee $6.00

I got a convincing nod when I enquired Leon about the Iced Coffee. Plenty of cream just the way he likes it.

Cappuccino $4.20

According to a sign I noticed on the window, apparently this place sells the ‘best coffee in Sydney’. Well I can tell you now that probably isn’t the case, however the coffee wasn’t too bad according to my coffee nazi standards.

Mortal Sin with Vanilla Ice Cream $12

If you ever wanted an artery clogger this would be it. This was absolutely delicious. Generous amounts of chocolate mousse , baked cheesecake and a chocolate biscuit crumbed base.

Apple Crumble with Vanilla Icecream $12

Raspberry Cheesecake with Vanilla Icecream $12

I think we all hit our feminine side on Friday night. I enjoyed my cake, but it was a bit too much to have with ice cream. I was told the prices we paid were about right for this end of town, but I was not too convinced with the price I paid for my coffee. Regardless of these shortfalls, it was a nice and relaxing atmosphere sitting outside sipping away on our drinks and having a bit of cake.

We started eatshowandtell in 2008, it was meant to be just a journal of where we ate. The first thing I usually do when I'm looking for a restaurant is check out eatability and the restaurant website. But what is usually missing is pictures of the food, how do I know I'm getting what I expect? This blog hopefully plugs that gap.
