Sushi Tei, Sydney
After finishing Good Food Month’s Sugar Hit with more than a couple of disappointments, poptart decided to take us to Harbour Kitchen… but of course, we can’t just have dessert and no dinner… so we hit Sushi Tei, as a couple of us hadn’t been there before.
I had this last time I was here, and it was still great 2nd time around ^_^ It’s got the right amount of crunchyness and saltiness, with that yummy calamari taste. So addictive!
Hmm, it’s been so long since I’ve eaten this, but from memory, the salmon was quite nice. Too much of the tuna sushi though =T They were the last ones to be eaten/finished. Overall, it was pretty decent, but not particularly memorable.
Poptart had this dish and remarked that it was very bland and overall not very good. Another friend had Katsu Udon and it was also not very good. We kinda of concluded that perhaps Sushi Tei’s forte is not the noodle dishes and would be more prudent to stick to the sushi or sukiyaki.
Had reasonably crunchy-ish bits, but again, not a memorable dish.
Unfortunately, its name escapes me, but this was definitely one of the highlights of dinner. I also had this last time I was here and it did not disappoint second time around. Succulent and cheesy… and they’re scallops! *yum*
Sushi Tei is situated opposite Chiefly Square, where its entrance is rather confusingly shared with a bank’s foyer with an ATM out in front-center of the foyer – so at first glance you’d think the entrance is for the bank and not a restaurant. We heard that if we use the wet towelettes given to us at the beginning of the night, we’d have to pay for them… so we didn’t… but they charged us anyway. From memory, it was about 50cents per towelette, but my memory’s always been faulty and it’s a rather haphazardous guess. So, use your towellettes!! I would most probably come back for the calamari and scallops, but not much else.
