Poptart had been here before and it is one of the few places he would recommend to go to for great desserts. Located in the Park Hyatt hotel, it all seemed so very posh and high class, making me glad for one that I was in business attire.

Rhubarb, ginger, and white chocolate cream lasagne
Most probably the least favourite dessert. We found it difficult to like, let alone eat; the hardness of the lasagne, the sour-tartness of the rhubarb, and the ginger!… they all didn’t go well with our palate and we kind of just ate the white chocolate cream (which was slightly rich and sweet, but quite nice). Granted it was also the *last* dessert we ate, so we were really really full by this time.

Apple tarte tatin and blackberry parfait
It’s been so long since I’ve had this dish, I’m slightly sheepish to say that I kind of forgotten what it tastes like. What I do remember is that both the apple tarte tatin and blackberry parfait was quite delicious (though the long wriggly thing on top of the parfait was really hard).

coconut and lime leaf brulee with coconut biscotti
One of the best brulees I’ve had the delight to eat: it wasn’t eggy, the top wasn’t hastily caramlised (almost perfect!), the coconut flavour was delicious and the lime leaf taste came through just right. The biscotti was quite nice too.

lemon and ricotta soufflé with honey ice cream
My first introduction to soufflé and my goodness was I spoilt. It was so scrumptious! The lemon made it slightly and lightly tart and the honey ice cream really complemented it well.

strawberry panna cotta, pink pepper corn ice cream and strawberry chutney
Always been a big fan of panna cotta and this was not a let down. Deliciously strawberried and went really really well with the strawberry chutney. This dessert did not last long at all. No idea where the pink pepper corn ice cream was, which was a pity as it would have been interesting to see what it tastes like.

layered mousse of mint and valhrona chocolate with caramelised pistachios
Very rich chocolate – so much so that we were glad that we were sharing. I really don’t think I could have had that dessert to myself, it got a bit too much after a few spoonfuls. On the bright side, it was gorgeous minty chocolate and the pistachios broke the richness of the chocolate, but not by much.

nutmeg and baileys parfait with crisp milk chocolate
This was also gone very quickly. It was light, but very flavoursome.
We ate amidst lots exclamations of “Mmmmm!!! So good!” (until we got to the lasagne one, that was more like “Hmm…”) and by the end of it, we were all so very full and had to be rolled home. The service was exceptional, and the setting and view gorgeous (though once the desserts came out, they were quickly forgotten). While a couple of the desserts were a miss or near-miss, I would definitely go back again – statistically there were more hits than misses! ^_^
